In order to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between the people of China and the rest of the world, Southwest University offers the president scholarship to sponsor international students and scholars to undertake studies and research.

Ø Type I Scholarship covers registration and tuition fees (including experiment and internship expenses), comprehensive medical insurance and monthly living allowance (CNY1100 for Bachelor's degree students and visiting students; CNY1400 for Master's degree students and CNY1700 for Doctoral degree students).
Ø Type II Scholarship covers registration and tuition fees (including experiment and internship expenses) and comprehensive medical insurance.
Scholarship Duration & Annual Assessment
Generally, scholarship holders are eligible for the following scholarships according to their study duration: 4 years for Bachelor's degree students, 2-3 years for Master's degree students, 3 years for Doctoral degree students and 1 year for visiting students.
According to relevant regulations, every May there is a comprehensive assessment of the scholarship holder's performance during the previous academic year to determine whether the scholarship holder is qualified to continue receiving the scholarship.

—Applicants for Bachelor's degree studies must have graduated from senior high school and be under the age of 30.
—Applicants for Master's degree studies must have a Bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
— Applicants for Doctoral degree studies must have a Master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
—Visiting students who are studying their own major or Chinese language should be at least in their second year of undergraduate study or have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degrees and be under the age of 45.

Ø Complete thePhysical Examination Record for Foreignersand undergo a physical examination at a local public hospital. The record is valid for 6 months.
Ø Prepare the other application documents requested and send the full application package to the International Students Admission Office of Southwest University.

Ø Log onto the website of SWU’s online application athttp://issic.swu.edu.cnand register.
Ø Download thePhysical Examination Form for Foreigners, complete it and take physical examination at a local public hospital.
Ø Log onto the website and enter the information and upload the documents as requested.
Ø Confirm all information and submit.
Ø Southwest University will evaluate the application materials and post the enrollment list athttp://gjxy.swu.edu.cnand notify the applicants by email.
Ø Admitted applicants must deposit an application fee of CNY 500 to Southwest University’s bank account.
Ø Admission NoticeandVisa Application for Study in China(JW202 form) will be mailed to the admitted applicants by the end of June.

Ø Photocopies of the highest diploma, graduation certificate or diploma certificate attained. University students or employed applicants should provide proof of studying or employment. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must have notarized translations in Chinese or English attached in duplicate.
