"Cultural and Educational Exchange Scholarship Program for American students" sponsored by China Government Scholarship (CSC) supports American students to study at BFU for Master and PhD programs. It is a full scholarship starts in early September 2020 and the study period is 2 to 3 years for master program and 3 to 4 years for doctoral program.
 
1.  Application Prerequisites
Applicants shall be a citizen of America in good health;
Applicants shall not be the students who are studying in China currently;
Applicants who apply for master’s degree program should be holders of bachelor’s degrees under the age of 35. Applicants who apply for doctor’s degree program should be holders of master’s degrees under the age of 40.
 
2.  Scholarship Coverage
a.Application Fee, Tuition, Expenses for experiments, researches and textbooks
b.Accommodation: Master Student , Doctor Student(Double Room)
c. Living Subsidy:
Living subsidy for master students is 3,000CNY/month and 3,500CNY/month for doctor students. New students who register before 15th (15th included) of the registration month will get the full amount of living allowance of that month, and those who register after 15th will get half amount of that month. Students upon graduation will get the living allowance upon the graduation date set by the university. The allowance will be terminated from the next month after students suspend their studies, drop school or complete schooling from the university. The allowance will be suspended for one month for those students who do not register on time without permission from the university, leave for non-health reasons or are absent from university over a month.
d.Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for Chinese Government Scholarship Students:
Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for Chinese Government Scholarship Students in China is covered by the Ministry of Education of China for the scholarship students in case of hospitalizing for serious diseases and accidental injuries. The insurance premium will be paid in advance by the host university or its designated relief institution, and the host university shall claim for compensation with relevant payment receipts from the insurance companies according to stipulated insurance articles, who will not accept the claim presented by the individual Chinese government scholarship students.
Scholarship students who have to suspend their studies for health reasons are required to return to their home countries for treatment, and the resulting international travel expenses shall be self-afforded. With the university’s approval, the scholarship status may be reserved for up to 1 year, and the scholarships and living allowances shall be suspended during the students’ leave. The scholarship status shall not be reserved for those who suspend their studies for other reasons.

Apart from the programs of Forestry, Forest Economics and Management, which are delivered in English for 2 years, all other specialties are delivered in Chinese. Applicants with no command of Chinese are generally required to take remedial Chinese language courses for 1 year, and only by passing the examinations after such courses may they start their studies on specialties. The duration of the scholarship for those students who need to take remedial Chinese language courses will be extended 1 year accordingly.
